Age 83, passed away unexpectedly, Wednesday afternoon, January 10, 2001. He was born September 17, 1917, to the late John and Emma (Kurey) Probst, in Mackville and had been a Kimberly resident for over 50 years.
Herk was a best friend, loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. He was employed by Zlzstra Heating for five years, for Tony Eltinks Heating for ten years and for U. S. Oil for 22 years. Herk was a member of Holy Name Catholic Church and a charter member of the Knights of Columbus, Council #4489, of Kimberly.
Survivors include his wife Rosemary L. (Baum) Probst to whom he had been married for 55 years; two daughters and sons-in-law, Kathleen and Dan Mitchell, Clintonville; Diane and Paul Jones, Holland MI; a son and daughter-in-law, Gerard and Jan Probst, Appleton; nine grandchildren; a great granddaughter; three sisters-in-law, Mrs. Archie (Margarat) Probst, Mrs. Anton (Margaret) Vanderloop, Mrs. Eugene (Virginia) Probst; two brothers-in-law, Vincent (Pat) Baum, Ray (Georgiana) Baum; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by three brothers, Leonard, Archie and Eugene Probst; two sisters, Jeanetta Steffens and Beatrice Probst; three brothers-in-law, Reverend John Baum, George (Mars) Baum and Anton Vanderloop.
The Funeral Liturgy for Heraclus will be held at 12:00 pm (NOON), Saturday, January 13, 2001, at HOLY NAME CATHOLIC CHURCH, 600 East Kimberly Avenue, with Father Dennis Berksbaken officiating. Burial will be in Holy Name Cemetery, Kimberly. Friends may call directly at the church from 9:30 am, Saturday, until the time of the mass. In lieu of flowers a memorial fund is being established.
