Age 99, passed away on Thursday, January 31, 2002 at Good Shepherd Home in Seymour. He was born on July 17, 1902 in Town of Ellington the son of the late Edward and Jane (Laird) Lohrenz. On November 26, 1941 he married Mabel Grace Holz in the Town of Ellington. She preceded him in death on June 5, 1976. He lived and farmed in the Town of Ellington all of his life. He was known for his generosity during his farming career by helping his neighbors. Hank always took great pride in his farm equipment, and was known for his stories and his sense of humor. He was a faithful member of Center Emmanuel United Methodist Church.
His survivors include his brother Wesley (Lucille) Lohrenz of Seymour, nephews Robert (Donna) Lohrenz of Hortonville, William Lohrenz of Appleton, and Michael (Charmaine) Lohrenz, of the Town of Oneida; his nieces Barbara Lohrenz of Anaheim, California, and Rebecca (Russell) Holdiman of Abrams, Wisconsin; five great nieces, five great nephews, four great great nieces, and five great great nephews. Hank is also survived by Don Schultz who was the husband of his niece Elaine Schultz who passed away in 1999. He was also preceded in death by his sisters Lottie, Fannie, Fern, and Gladys Lohrenz; his brother Wilbur, his infant twin brother and sister; and his sister-in-law Hazel Lohrenz.
Funeral services will be conducted on Monday, February 4, 2002 at 11:00 AM at Center Emmanuel United Methodist Church on Hample Road in the Town of Center with the Rev. Lewis Lebakken officiating. Interment will take place in the Town of Center Cemetery. Friends may call at the Wichmann Funeral Home on Sunday from 2-5 PM and at the church on Monday from 10:00 AM until the time of the services. A memorial fund is being established.
The family wishes to express their thanks to Hank’s neighbor Alton Danke for his support and concern during Hank’s later years.
