Helene Pfeffer, age 88, of Chilton, passed away at her home on Friday, June 17, 2005, surrounded by her loving family and her dog “Bailey.” Helene was born on October 10, 1916, in Slinger, Wisconsin to the late Dr. Philip and Mary Ellen (Roddy) Kauth. She married Earl A. Pfeffer on December 26, 1945; he preceded her in death on July 5, 1990. Survivors include her children, Stephen (Joy) Pfeffer, Verona; Michael Pfeffer (his friend Ginni), Stoughton; Rosemary (Dean) Roebken, Cedarburg; Martha (David) Zellner, Green Bay; Ellen (Dick) Dierks, Appleton; Elise “Leasa” (Art) Conrad, Green Bay; Jane Roddy (Charles) Vanden Boom, Stockbridge; Rachael (Thomas) Foss, Hayward; Virginia Pfeffer, Wauwautosa; Andrea (James) Porubsky; Brookfield; and William Pfeffer, Montana; her grandchildren, Katherine Pfeffer, Jennifer Zimmermann, Kiah Pfeffer, Rex Roebken, Courtney, Kiley and Matthew Zellner, Sarah, Stephanie and Jonathan Dierks, Emily and Christopher Conrad, Luke Vanden Boom, Alex and Zac Foss; and Nick, Veronica and Dominic Porubsky; her great grandchildren, Jacob, Dacoda, Tricia and Dylan Zimmerman and Thomas Dierks. She is further survived by her brother, Dr. Robert (Elaine) Kauth; her sisters-in-law, Mildred Kauth and Barb Kauth; and her special friend, Pat Rutowski. She was preceded in death by her loving grandson, Patrick Pfeffer, her twin sister, Mary Jane (Louis) Ottmer; her sister, Dolly (John) Killeen; and her brothers, Dr. Charles Kauth, Philip Kauth, Luke Kauth and Tommy Kauth. Private family services will be held. As an expression of sympathy, the family requests that donations be directed to Appleton Medical Center, 3rd Floor Oncology, the Hospice Center, any Humane Society, or any other charity of your choice. Helene’s family would like to thank everyone at Appleton Medical Center for their loving care. They especially want to thank Dr. Swanson, the most wonderful and compassionate man, who helped the family carry out their promise to make Helene’s days fulfilled. The family also wishes to thank Dr. Tipler and his staff, the Chilton Medical Center, Caregivers, and the Calumet County Nutrition Program.
