Helen Meyer, 80, Always the Teacher (aka Mrs. Meyer), graduated from her earthly coursework into the arms of her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, May 24, 2022. She was born on June 30th, 1941, in Appleton, the daughter of Harvey and Delia (Burt) Behnke. Helen was united in marriage to Donald Robert Meyer on September 15, 1962. She began her career working for Pusch, Larson and Sufert, CPA's in 1959. Helen lived her faith everyday of her life. In 1970, she answered the call to serve as the first kindergarten teacher at Mt. Olive Lutheran Grade School where she faithfully served for 23 years until her retirement in 1993. Deciding retirement was too boring she began working for Homestead Meadows Farm where she impacted so many people through weddings, class field trips, company picnics and many more events until she retired for a second and final time in 2008. She was a life-long member of the Ladies Aid at Mt. Olive where she also served on the funeral committee. She loved reading her bible, doing puzzles, theme decorating her home for every season, writing in her daily journals and completing Sudoko and crossword puzzles. She was very active over the years with Mount Olive Ev. Lutheran Church serving in more ways than can be captured in words here. In every group Helen was a part of she used her organization skills to be the historian and record keeper of all things relevant. She loved her Tuesday morning Bible class and the friends she made became part of her extended family.
Helen is survived by her two sons: Wes (Cynthia) and Wayne (Tammy) Meyer; grandchildren: Morgan (Andrew), Mason, Emily (Josh), Anna, Maia, Vincent, Katie (Tommy), Lauren (Adam), and David (Erin); a great grandchild: Ivy; a sister-in-law: Susan; other relatives and friends.
Helen was preceded in death by her beloved husband Donald and her parents.
