Age 84
Of Appleton, devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother passed away Saturday, January 31, 2004 at Colony Oaks Care Center. She was born on November 3, 1919 to the late Paul and Lucia Abendroth in Appleton. She enjoyed trips to the family cottage on Loon Lake, but most of all spending time with her family. Helen was a member of St. Therese Catholic Church.

Survivors include five children: Terrie (John) Sprenger, Eden Prairie, MN, E. Michael (Linda) Probst, Appleton, Mary Lu (Norman) Nelson, New London, Betty (Ronald) Wolff, Knoxville, TN and Donald Probst, Appleton; 13 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; brother and sister-in-laws Jim and Mary Probst, Joe and Carol Probst and Marcella Band.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward H. in 1988, a son, Timothy in 1960, sisters: Virginia Whalen and Joanne Abendroth; brothers: Paul, Roy and Robert (Buddy).

A Funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, February 3, 2004 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Therese Catholic Church (213 E. Wisconsin Ave.) Appleton with Father Bill Hoffman officiating. Visitation will begin at 9:30 a.m. until the time of service also at church. Interment will take place in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery, Appleton. A memorial fund is being established.
