ROBERTSON, HELEN IRENE
Helen Irene Robertson came to us from a time when the world was black and white. Your word meant something and a handshake sealed the deal. You knew your neighbors and cared about them. In her world you said hello to people on the street and treated and respected them like friends. And Helen had friends: from Tim the Mayor to Bob the mailman. She had wonderful stories of a world long gone; commutes by train into New York with Kathryn Hepburn and Vincent Price, potential suitors thoroughly screened by four brothers, and summer swims and clambakes at Bayley Beach in Rowayton. Helen was a whirlwind in a tiny body, a force to be reckoned with who loved her children dearly and would tell you so. She lived a full life with class and grace, always punctuated by her keen sense of humor and wit. (Did she mention she kissed the Blarney Stone?)
Helen Irene Robertson, of Appleton, age 93, died on Saturday, January 6, 2007, at her home. Helen was born on January 1, 1914, in Rowayton, Connecticut to Edward and Edna [Green] Ladrigan.
