Helen I. Zeman

Helen Zeman, age 95, of Appleton and formerly of Sun City, Arizona, passed away peacefully on Sunday, April 26, 2015. She was born on December 15, 1919, to the late Bohumil and Anna Vlach. She met the love of her life, Frank Zeman, while ballroom dancing and they were married on February 5, 1944. They spent seventy wonderful years together until Frank's death in August of 2014.

Helen's favorite activity was ballroom dancing with her husband and they continued to dance well into their 90's. Helen also enjoyed water aerobics, working in her flower garden, knitting and crocheting, various activities at her retirement community, and spending time with her family.

Helen is survived by her son and daughter-in-law: James and Phyllis Zeman; her grandchildren: Melissa (Kevin) Decker, Paul (Annie) Zeman, Elizabeth Zeman, John (Kristy) Easton, and Elsa (Craig) Wright; her great-grandchildren: Dylan Decker, Liam and Ava Easton, Anastasia and Krista Wright, and Baby Boy Zeman who is due to arrive in June; and her brother: Joseph (Carrie) Vlach.

In addition to her parents and her husband Frank, Helen was preceded in death by her daughter Carol Easton, sisters Rose (Joe) Kolar and Anna Vlach; and brothers Bohumil (Blanche) Vlach and James Vlach.

Helen's family would like to extend a heartfelt thanks to the staff at the Monarch neighborhood at Touchmark, and to her caregivers from Valley VNA Health Services for the compassionate care they provided to Helen, as well as the kindness and understanding shown to her family during this difficult time.
