Hazel M. Richards

Formerly of River Drive, age 86, died Thursday evening, November 1, 2001. She was born September 28, 1915, to the late Amasa and Della (Grandow) Utter, in Vulcan, Michigan and had been an Appleton area resident for over 40 years. Hazel had many dear friends and was very active in all facets of her church, Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Survivors include two daughters and a son-in-law, Shirley and Keith Oppeneer, Appleton; Jeanne Jacobson, Baton Rogue, LA; grandchildren, great grandchildren, a brother and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Fred Hopfensperger, her second husband, Fred Richards, a son, Richard Hopfensperger, and four sisters. The funeral liturgy for Hazel will be held at 1:30 pm, Saturday, (TODAY) November 3, 2001, at SACRED HEART CATHOLD CHURCH, 222 East Fremont Street, with Father Robert Karuhn officiating. Burial will be in Holy Angels Cemetery, Darboy. Friends may call at the church from 12:30 pm, Saturday, until the time of the mass. A memorial fund is being established.
