Harvey “Jack” Ganzer, age 88, of Oshkosh, passed away on Wednesday, August 5, 2015 at Aurora Medical Center. He was born on May 19, 1927 in Appleton, to the late Harvey E., Sr. and Natele (Demitz) Ganzer. Jack graduated from the School of Mining in Platteville. On October 23, 1954, he married Beryl Lathrop in Platteville. Jack served his country in the U.S. Marines. He was a member of the Algoma Boulevard United Methodist Church in Oshkosh, and a Master Mason of the Melody Lodge No. 2 F & AM of Platteville. Jack was a Civil Engineer with the State of Wisconsin Department of Transportation. One of his passions was trains, and he was an avid model railroader.
Jack is survived by his wife Beryl Ganzer; children: Steven (Chrystal) Ganzer, Kristine (Harold) Kelley, Jere (Stacy) Ganzer, and William (Eric Wong) Ganzer; grandchildren: Tiffany and Harold Andrew Kelley; Chelsey, Taylor, Christian, and Sydney Ganzer. He was preceded in death by his brother Jere Thomas Ganzer.
The Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, August 9, 2015 from 2:00 pm until 4:00 pm at the WYLDEWOOD APARTMENTS, 111 Wyldewood Drive (Corner of Witzel and Wyldewood) in Oshkosh. Rev. Cathy Weigand will be conducting a prayer service at 3:30 pm. Inurnment will take place at Highland Memorial Park in Appleton. In lieu of flowers, memorials are appreciated to the Wounded Warrior Project. Online condolences can be offered at www.wichmannfargo.com.
