Harvey A. Vande Hei, age 65, of Appleton, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family, Tuesday afternoon, September 25, 2007, at Cherry Meadows. He was born August 14, 1942, to the late Arthur and Frances (Ambrosius) Vande Hei, in Green Bay and grew up in DePere, where he graduated from West DePere High School. Following his graduation he attended North East Wisconsin Technical College, where he received his Associates Degree. Harv had been employed by Murphy Concrete and Construction, as Human Resources Manager, for 42 years, retiring in 2007. Harv’s greatest joy was playing the game of golf. Survivors include his wife, Mary (Vieau) Vande Hei, to whom he had been married for 39 years; four children, Sara (Steven) Lonsway, Appleton; Andrew “Andy” (Emily) Vande Hei, Hartford; Luke (Amy) Vande Hei, Appleton; Megan (Brian) Reimer, West Allis; five grandchildren, Hanna, Maggie, Katherine, McKenna, Keegan and one on the way; two brothers, Jerry (Karon) Vande Hei, Todd (Gina) Vande Hei, seven sisters, Carol (John) Whitehouse, Patricia (Bill) Derouin, Kathleen (Guy) Achten, Deloris Van Lanen, Joyce (Jerry) Krull, Virginia (Bob) Kennedy, Elaine Doxtator, nieces, nephew, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by an infant brother, Richard. Funeral services for Harvey will be held at 7:00 pm, Friday, September 28, 2007 at the funeral home, with Reverend Dr. Tom Fritz officiating. Friends may call at the funeral home from 4:00 pm Friday, until the time of the service. In lieu of flowers memorial funds have been established for the Martha Seikman Center, Cherry Meadows, Fox Valley Neuroscience (Dr. James Marotz and his staff).
