Harry P. “Chip” Riechel, age 56, passed away Tuesday, August 23, 2005, at St. Elizabeth Hospital, Appleton. He was born April 26, 1949, in Kaukauna, the son of the late Harry, Sr. and Hazel (Crabb) Reichel.
Chip was a 1967 graduate of Kaukauna High School, and was drafted into the United States Army during the Vietnam War. He was stationed in Germany for a couple of years. Following his return home, Chip worked at numerous places in the Fox Valley. He has been a bartender at Bob’s Inn Tavern for close to 30 years. Chip loved to fish and go for rides in his car, accompanied by his faithful companion, his dog, Weasel.
Survivors include his brother, Scott Reichel, his sister, Christina Perez, a special nephew, Billy Sanderfoot, and good friend, Ron Schmitt, all of Kaukauna; there are five nephews and five nieces. Chip was preceded in death by two sisters, Patricia Geiger and Judith Sanderfoot.
As was his request, no funeral services or visitation will be held for Chip. Interment will be in St. Mary Cemetery, Kaukauna. Memorials in his name may be sent to Scott Reichel, 108 Island St., Kaukauna, WI, 54130.
