Harold W. Brooks, 93, of Appleton passed away on Wednesday, July 8, 2009 at Cherry Meadows.
Harold was born on June 22, 1916 to the late John and Mary (Joosten) Brooks in Appleton. He married Doris Babcock on August 27, 1937. Harold was a veteran having served in the US Army during WW II. He retired from Appleton Wire Works in 1980 as a purchasing agent and enjoyed 29 years of retirement enjoying golfing, cards, flower gardening and spending time with family and friends. The family will miss the special Christmas gatherings at Grandpa's house with his special punch and old fashions. Harold also enjoyed breakfasts at Angels and his dog, Clancy. Harold is survived by 3 children, David (Mary) Brooks, Menasha; Danny (Shirley) Brooks, Waupaca and Lynn (Mike) Stearns, Appleton; grandchildren, Scott (Mili) Brooks, Brian (Ann) Brooks, Shannon Brooks, Carrie Brooks, Kelly Brooks, Stacy Sievert, Kristy (Clint) Malinski, Lisa Hunter, Kent Pentzer, Parker Brooks, Sara Stearns and Jon Stearns, Great-grandchildren Karma and Madison Brooks, nieces, nephews other relatives and many friends. He was preceded in death by his wife, 2 children Judy Sievert and Bruce Brooks and 5 sisters; May, Wilma, Harriet, Josephine and Grace.
A memorial service will be held on Monday, July13, 2009 at 11:00 AM at the WICHMANN FUNERAL HOME with Pastor Kurt Kovanen officiating. Friends may call on Monday from 10:00 AM until the time of services at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the Martha Siekman Cancer Center at the Appleton Medical Center.
