Age 78, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, January 25, 2006 at Theda Clark. He was born in Milwaukee on March 15, 1927 to the late Joseph and Clara (Lemeke) Vinci. On September 23, 1950 he was united in marriage to Doris DiPiazza and they shared 55 wonderful years together. Hal worked for the City of Milwaukee for over 30 years as a heavy machine lubricator. He prided himself for his service in all 5 major campaigns during WWII with the U.S. Navy. He was a boiler engineer aboard the U.S.S. Kaskaskia.
He will be sadly missed by his wife, Doris; his children: Paulette Vinci, Michele (Robert) Marak, Bill Vinci, Ann (Jeff) Dejewski, Antonia Poole; daughter-in-law, Nancy Vinci; 20 grandchildren, and 15 great-grandchildren. He is further survived by his sister, Pearl. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Mark, a great-grandson, John, and his sister, Delores.
Funeral services for Hal will be held on Monday, January 30, 2006 at 1 P.M. at Wichmann Funeral Home (537 N. Superior Street). Friends may call at the funeral home from 11 A.M. until the time of the service. Military honors will be performed at the funeral home immediately following the funeral service.
