Harold Dahlstrom Sr., age 89, passed away on Friday, October 6, 2017 at Atrium Post Acute Care of Little Chute. He was born on March 15, 1928 to the late Abner and Luella (Ziemke) Dahlstrom. Harold was a lifelong Racine resident. He grew up spending summers on his grandfather’s farm working by his side and enjoying the farm fresh food. He was also in the Army and was a Korean War veteran. Harold has always been a realist, wanting everyone to see the bigger picture and appreciate everything in life. He was kind, honest, and always willing to be your best friend and biggest supporter. Harold married his dear late wife Elizabeth in 1950 and together they had four children. He loved to spend time with his family and share stories and memories. He was a truck driver, traveling to every state often with Elizabeth and the kids riding along. The family spent much time together on vacations, often to Colorado to visit Harold’s brother. Harold would always say that if you aren’t driving 600 miles a day, it isn’t worth leaving the house.
Harold will be greatly missed by his children: James (Sue) Dahlstrom, Harold Jr. (Mary) Dahlstrom), Gail Dahlstrom, and Douglas Dahlstrom; five grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; brother, Howard (Anne) Dahlstrom; and other relatives and friends.
Per Harold’s request, a private family service will be held. Online condolences may be expressed at www.wichmannfargo.com.
In lieu of flowers, donations are asked to be made to the Salvation Army in Harold’s name, as he had been a donor there for over 20 years.
The family would like to give a special thank you to the staff of Atrium Post Acute Care of Little Chute as well the staff at Affinity Hospice for their loving care of Harold.
