Age 51, died Thursday morning, February 22, 2001, following a courageous battle with breast cancer. She was born March 6, 1949, in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada, to George H. and Ruth I. (March) Light. Maureen married Warren D. Lindner on October 24, 1970, in Burlington, Iowa, by Reverend Leon Knitt. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting, cross-stitch, yard work, meeting people and travel. Maureen was a member of the Cookie Dough Cancer Support Group, at St. Elizabeth Hospital. Maureen will be sadly missed by her husband, Warren D. Lindner; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Michael Lindner and his fiancée, Danielle, Menasha; Marc and Jennifer Lindner, Menasha; a daughter, Heather Vera-Vargas, and her friend, John, Green Bay; her spoiled dog, Elliot; her parents, George H. and Ruth I. (March) Light, Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada; three sisters and two brothers-in-law, Linda and Brian Freeman, Rocky Mountain House, Alberta, Canada; and their children Gary Freeman and Dennis (Debbie) Freeman and family, all of Winnipeg; Wendy and Lorne Jamison, and their children, Leanne and Chris Jamison, Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada; Brenda Light, Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada. Funeral services for Maureen will be held at 11:00 am Monday, February 26, 2001, at the funeral home, with Reverend Leon Knitt officiating. Friends may call at the funeral home from 4-7 pm Sunday and on Monday from 10:00 am until the time of the service. In lieu of flowers a memorial fund is being established.
