Gwen C. Compton

Age 73, passed away at Theda Clark Regional Medical Center in Neenah on Friday, April 9, 2004, surrounded by her family. Gwen was born in Chicago on September 25, 1930, daughter of the late Van and Mary (Rossiter) Lemons. Gwen lived in California for forty years, and relocated to Wisconsin in 1996 because she missed her sister Gladys, the changing seasons, the beautiful weather. Gwen was a talented woman, whose many donated craft items raised funds for the Wild Rose Hospital where Gwen volunteered. Many will recall that Gwen always remembered the important dates of her family and friends by regularly sending greeting cards.

Gwen is survived by three children: Dave (Beverly) Compton of California and their children Jennifer, Daniel, and Timothy; Susie (Ron) Ramos of California and his children Kurt, Matthew, Ryan, Katherine, Caroline, and Jordan; Brian (Ann-Marie) Compton of California and their children Matthew and Scott; a son-in-law: Casey Yandell of California and his children Casey, Jr. and Erin; a sister: Gladys (George) Essenmacher of Wild Rose; and a brother: Al (Cecile) Lemons of Maine. Gwen was preceded in death by her parents, a daughter Cindy, two sisters, and a brother.

A memorial service to celebrate Gwen's life will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, April 12, 2004 at the Birdsong Bed & Breakfast in Wild Rose, with a reception to follow.
