“Harold” Peterson, age 89, passed away peacefully at Living Tree Estates in Greenville on Wednesday evening, December 2, 2015. Harold was born in Chicago on May 13, 1926, son of the late Manfred and Hilma (Gustavson) Peterson. He married the former Rosemary Otolich in November of 1950, and together raised two children: Susan and Scott. In 1991, Harold married Alice, and at the same time “inherited” her beautiful children and grandchildren, whom he lovingly welcomed during their entire marriage. Alice passed away just last Christmas. Harold was a lifetime lover of the game of golf, the Chicago Cubs, and was an annual member of the Chicago Botanical Gardens.
He is survived by two children: Sue Vannorsdall of Hortonville and Scott (Glori) Peterson of Arnold, Missouri; three grandchildren: Kimberly (Robert) Rice, Samantha Peterson, and Steve Chacon; and two great-grandchildren: Kastian and Topanga Rice. He is also survived by Alice's entire family.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, December 12, 2015 at the Wichmann Funeral Home, Tri County Chapel, 1592 Oneida Street in Menasha, with Pastor Levi Rocke officiating. Family and friends are welcome to gather on Saturday morning from 10:00 AM until the time of service. For more information or to share a memory of Harold, please visit www.wichmannfargo.com.
The family would like to offer their sincere thanks to the staff and community of Living Tree Estates in Greenville, to Dr. Demery and the staff of Hospice Advantage, and to the Rocke family for the care, love, and support dad and our family received. You are all the best.
