Siebers, Gregory William
Greenville
Gregory William Siebers, age 56, died peacefully at home on Tuesday, January 23, 2007 after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born on October 6, 1950 in Appleton to the late Glen and Barbara (Milheiser) Siebers. In his youth, Greg was an excellent football player and a protective big brother. He worked at Voith for 30 years and enjoyed retiring last February. Greg was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting; spending time at his cottage in Rhinelander; and traveling to Canada every summer for a fishing jamboree with his friends and family. Greg held a special place in his heart for his hunting dog, Maggie, who was with him every step of the way. He also enjoyed hanging out with the guys every week to shoot trap. Greg was a Jack-of-all-trades, knowing everything from fixing a car to installing wood floors. Greg’s greatest passion in life was his family. Greg was married to his high school sweetheart for 35 years. He was an amazing husband, loving father, and an awesome grandfather. He found no greater joy than just hanging out with his wife, children, and grandchildren. He will be greatly missed by everyone he has touched throughout the years.
Greg is survived by his wife, Cindy Siebers (Reader); 3 daughters: Nicole (Erik) Job, Lisbon, Maine, Heather (Dale) Kunstman, Kimberly, Amy (Ben) Van Dyn Hoven, Kaukauna. Greg is also survived by 9 grandchildren: Kaitlyn (12), Maxwell (11), Andrew (10), Anthony (8), Alaina (8), William (7), Hunter (6), Madalyn (5), and Reid (2); one sister, Darlene (Ron) Balke; two brothers: Doug (Karol) Siebers, Bruce (Denise) Siebers; father and mother-in-law, John and Nancy Reader, and seven brother and sisters-in-law: John (Nancy) Reader, Rob (Sue) Reader, Mike (Missy) Reader, Steve (Jody) Reader, Dave (Elyn) Reader, Tom (Mary) Reader, and Rick (Julie) Reader. Greg was preceded in death by his parents, Glen and Barbara Siebers.
A funeral liturgy for Greg will be held on Saturday, January 27, 2007 at 11:00 A.M. at St. Bernard Catholic Church (1617 West Pine Street) with Father Dennis Ryan officiating. Friends may call at the church from 9:00 A.M. until the time of the mass.
In lieu of flowers, a college fund for “Munta’s 9 Marvelous Miracles” will be set up for Greg’s grandchildren. He wanted to see them succeed in all ways possible and he wanted to have a hand in their lives forever.
To My Husband:
Love is not a matter of counting the years, but making the years count.
I will never let our love fade away.
Yours Always,
Cindy
