Greg Mitchell

Gregory L. Mitchell, age 56, passed away peacefully after a long illness at his home on Monday, January 21, 2019. He was born on November 2, 1962 in Neenah, Wisconsin. Greg attended St. Patrick’s Grade School; St. Mary’s Central High School and graduated from Neenah High School. Greg received a degree from Fox Valley Technical College and worked as an auto body technician for many years. Greg was a perfectionist in his field and his attention to detail when refinishing antique cars both professionally and as a hobby, were admired by many. Greg was an avid wind surfer and enjoyed many wonderful days out on the lake with his family and friends. In recent years, he enjoyed the sport by filming out on the lake with his drone. He also enjoyed cross country skiing, hunting and archery and was a talented carpenter refinishing much of the home he lived in.

He is survived by his parents Richard and Merry Mitchell, siblings Christopher Mitchell, Brenda (Mike) Protheroe and Susanne (Bob) Houlihan, nieces and nephews Emily, Joe, Ally and Charlie Mitchell. Jessica, James and Jenna Protheroe. Jack and Will Houlihan.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents.

The memorial service for Greg will be held at 5:00 PM on Friday, February 1, 2019 at Wichmann-Laemmrich Funeral Home (312 Milwaukee St., Menasha). Visitation will be held from 4:00 PM until the time of service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Neenah Animal Shelter or The National Kidney Foundation in Greg’s name.
