Brockman, Gordon P.

Gordon P. Brockman, age 78, of Legend Lake, died Friday morning, February 17, 2006, at his local resident with his family by his side. He was born February 5, 1928, to the late Joseph and Minnie (Lamers) Brockman, Jr., in Appleton, where he was a resident all of his life, until moving to Legend Lake 10 years ago. Gordon served with the U. S. Army during the Korean Conflict. Following his discharge he was employed by McClone Lumber, as an expeditor and then by O. J. Boldt, as a carpenter, until his retirement in 1990. Gordon enjoyed his grandchildren, the lake, his pontoon boat, bird watching and gardening. He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and the United Brotherhood of Carpenters Local # 955. He is survived by his loving and supportive wife, Patricia M. (Malliet) Brockman, to whom he had been married for 54 years; four children, Patrick (Kathy) Brockman, Milwaukee; Paul Brockman, Menasha; Mark Brockman, Neenah; Mary (Robert) De Groot, Menasha; four grandchildren, Neeka and Reegan Cheslock, Dylan and Shelby Brockman; four brothers, Lawrence (Ethel) Brockman, Black Creek; Jerome (Marie) Brockman, Darboy; Vilas (Germaine) Brockman, Freedom; Maurice (Ethel) Brockman, Darboy; a sister-in-law, Louise (Arnie) Albrecht, Appleton. He was preceded in death by a brother, Lester Brockman. The funeral liturgy for Gordon will be held at 11:00 am, Monday, February 20, 2006, at SACRED HEART CATHOLIC CHURCH, 222 East Fremont Street, with Father Robert Karuhn officiating. Burial will be in Appleton Highland Memorial Park. Friends may call at the funeral home from 5 to 8 pm, Sunday and at the church on Monday, from 10:00 am until the time of the mass. There will be a prayer and scripture service at 7:00 pm, Sunday. In lieu of flowers memorial funds have been established for St. Joseph Food Pantry, St. Jude Children's Hospital, ThedaCare at Home Hospice, or the charity of the donor's choice.
