Gordon Arnold Van Handel

Gordon A. Van Handel, 82, Menasha, passed away on Monday, October 16, 2017, at ThedaCare Medical Center, Appleton. He was born on April 20, 1935, in Little Chute, the son of Peter and Rose (Blaha) Van Handel. Gordon was united in marriage to Dorothy Ferrige on September 24, 1960, at St. John Nepomucene Catholic Church, Little Chute. Gordon was a very caring and nurturing person, he had a great sensitivity about people, fueled his love of being out and about interacting with those around him. He also had an appreciation for creating comfortable environments for others in their homes, which lead to him owning and operating Gordon Interiors, of Kaukauna. Gordon also enjoyed hobby gardening and took great pride in watching things grow.

Gordon is survived by his wife: Dorothy; son: Cliff (Diane) Van Handel; daughter-in-law: Jennifer Van Handel; 4 grandchildren: Natalie , Nicole, Alex, and Vanessa Van Handel; 7 siblings: Ivol (Myrt) Van Handel, Donald (Marge) Van Handel, Merill (Marion) Van Handel, Richard Van Handel, Jerome (Arlene) Van Handel, Joyce Williamson, and Lorrie DuChateau; many other relatives, and friends.
Gordon was preceded in death by his parents; a son: Bradley Van Handel;2 brothers-in-law: Gordon Williamson and Charles DuChateau; and a sister-in-law: Helen Van Handel.

Memorial services will be held at 11:00 am, on Monday, October 23, 2017, at ST. JOHN NEPOMUCENE CATHOLIC CHURCH, 323 Pine St., Little Chute, WI. Inurnment will be in Highland Memorial Park, Appleton. Visitation will be Monday at the church from 10:00 am until the time of the Mass.
