Glennda J. Smith

Glennda J. Smith (née Brophy) died unexpectedly at St Elizabeth’s Hospital on January 5, 2019 in Appleton, WI at the age of 57.

Glennda was born on October 13, 1961 in Montevideo, MN to Lawrence and Alberta (Alstad) Brophy. She graduated from Montevideo High School in 1980. She then moved to the Fox Valley area in the mid-eighties. She married Alvin Smith October 12, 2012. She will be remembered as a compassionate, generous, loving and strong. Glennda thoroughly enjoyed athletics, music and the outdoors. At a young age she was shooting hoops in her families’ barn day and night. She enjoyed playing the drums, listening to her record player and going to shows. Her greatest joy was her children. She loved taking them to the zoo, Bay Beach, and sporting events.

Glennda is survived by her husband, Alvin Smith; children, Geoff Edwards, Traci Edwards, Travis Edwards and his wife Stacy and Adam Edwards; grandchildren, Whitley Edwards and Wyatt Edwards (Travis and Stacy). Sister Kathy Brandsted (Brophy).

She is preceded in death by her parents, Lawrence and Alberta Brophy (Alstad), Siblings William Brophy and Eileen Brophy.

The Funeral Service for Glennda will be held on Saturday, January 12, 2019 at 1:00 PM at the Wichmann Funeral Home Tri County Chapel, 1592 Oneida St., Menasha. A time of visitation will be held on Saturday, January 12, 2019 from 11:00 AM until the time of the service at the funeral home. The graveside service will take place at Riverside Cemetery following the service. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Glennda’s life.
