Glenn Allen Kelly, age 83, passed away on March 17, 2025, at ThedeCare, Neenah. Glenn was born on May 5, 1941, in Wauwatosa, WI. He grew up in Greenville with his sister Pat and his parents Edward and Marjorie (Phillips) Kelly on the family farm. He graduated high school and attended FVTC for Fire Tech Training courses. On October 5, 1963, he married Janet A. Livingston at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Appleton, and soon after the couple grew their family with the addition of Michael, Joseph and Barbara. The family lived in Greenville where for 32 years, Glenn served on the fire department, the last 8 of which was as the Fire Chief.
Glenn was passionate about farming the multi-generational Kelly Farms on Julius Drive in Greenville, specializing in dairy and beef. He taught his children the value of hard work on the farm. His children recall there being no benefit to “staying home sick” as in a case like that, there were just more hands for the work to be done. As a farming family, a “family trip” consisted of visits to the county fair or possibly even the zoo.
Glenn’s recollection of that time: “We owned and operated a dairy farm in Greenville for many years. We had three great kids that grew up on the farm. We had our own farm market for years and sold sweet corn and pumpkins. Many times the kids from years past would bring their own kids to find that special pumpkin! That was great to see!”
Later in life following retirement, Glenn loved to play bingo, Marble games and dominoes with friends. Trips to the cabin in Long Lake were perfect for the couple. The cabin remains in the family to this day. Glenn and Janet found joy in their trips to Branson and heading to Door County to visit his friends the Zaug’s. Following Janet’s passing in 2020 Glenn loved to feed the robins raisins and bird seed in his backyard.
Glenn is survived by his children: Michael Kelly, Joseph (Amy) Kelly and Barbara (Bob) Jones; grandchildren: Evan (Allison) Kelly, Ashley (Trevor) Klabunde; great grandchildren: Owen, Brennan, Macey, and Everly; and extended family: Gina, Skye, Kiera, and Kiana. In addition, he is survived by in-laws: Don Fulcer, Anne-Grethe Livingston and Augusta Livingston and many nieces, nephews, relatives, friends, and fire station professionals.
He was preceded in death by his wife Janet, his parents, his sister Pat (Howard) Van DeHey, in-laws: Mary Fulcer, Leo Livingston, Bob Livingston and Ted (Jody) Livingston.
