Age 87, died Sunday evening, April 25, 2004, following a lengthy illness. He was born July 20, 1916, to the late Bjarne T. and Nora (Erickson) Knutsen, in Beloit. Glen graduated from Beloit High School in 1934 and from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 1941. He married Irma H. Koeninger on May 22, 1943, in Manitowoc; she preceded him in death on July 31, 1983. Glen had been employed by St. Elizabeth Hospital, as Director of Personnel, from 1965 until his retirement in 1981. He was a member of St. Matthew Ev. Lutheran Church. He is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Katherine and Roger Geissler, Jefferson, WI; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Paul and Anne Knutson, Farmington Hills, MI; David Knutson and his fiancée, Judy Pobjoy, Windsor, WI; seven grandchildren, Ann Geissler, Stephen (Rebecca) Geissler, Kristine, Karen and Karolyn Knutson, Jennifer and Michelle Pobjoy; a special friend, Ione Glassman and her family, Patty Wilson and Penny (John) Barr; a sister and brother-in-law, Carol and James Bajorek, Green Bay; three sisters-in-law, Nadine Knutsen, Ruth (Charles) Kirst and Margaret Koeninger. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Clarence and Donald Knutsen and a sister, Lucille Knutsen. Funeral service for Glen will be held at 11:00 am, Wednesday, April 28, 2004, at ST. MATTHEW EV. LUTHERAN CHURCH, 129 South Mason Street, with Reverend Jeffrey Verbeke and Reverend Paul T. Schuler officiating. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery, Watertown. Friends may call at the church from 9:30 am, Wednesday, until the time of the service. A memorial fund for St. Matthew Ev. Lutheran Church is being established.
