Gertrude J. Halverson

Gertrude “Trudie” J. Halverson, age 97, passed away on January 10, 2019. She was born in Milwaukee on January 8, 1922, daughter of the late Michael and Helen Golembiewski. Gertrude married Floyd Halverson in Milwaukee and they later relocated to Menasha. She worked as an RN in Milwaukee and at Peabody Manor. Gertrude enjoyed quilting, was a member of the Guadalupe Society and a long-time member at St. Mary in Menasha.

She is survived by her children: Barbara (Donald) LaCount and their son, Brad (Kristin) LaCount and their children, Talia (Ben) Quella, Noah and Anna; Tom (Ann) Halverson and their three children: Eric (Rachael) Halverson and their children, Garrett and Aaron; Sarah (Paul) Diroll and their children, Lucas and Lauren; Scott Halverson; sisters: Pat Cole, Rita Slawson and Collette Konczel; she is further survived by numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Floyd Halverson; siblings: Joan, Gene, Dick, Ted, Betty, Sophie and Harriet.

The funeral liturgy for Gertrude will be held at 11:30 AM on Friday, January 18, 2019 at St. Mary Catholic Church in Menasha (528 Second St., Menasha) with Rev. Paul Paider officiating. Visitation will be held from 10:30 AM until the time of mass. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the St. Joseph Food Pantry or the Community Clothes Closet in Gertrude’s name.
