Age 74, died unexpectedly, Sunday afternoon, October 20, 2002. She was born November 10, 1927, to the late Frank and Elizabeth (Ebben) Kilsdonk, in Little Chute and had been an area resident all of her life. Geraldine enjoyed reading and knitting and spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was a member of St. Bernard Catholic Church, the Ladies of St. Bernard and the Don Bosco Guild (a young Catholic singles group).
Survivors include five children, Susan (Karl) Schrampfer, Appleton; Stephen (Kim) Maertz, Greenville; Daniel (Mary) Maertz, Neenah; Maria (Mike) DeBont, Neenah; Timothy (Mary) Maertz, Neenah; 15 grandchildren, Laura Schrampfer, Sara Schrampfer, Rochelle Maertz, Nicholas Maertz, Bob Ellingson, Becky (Ben) Dorow, Christopher Maertz, Corey Maertz, Joseph DeBont, Zachary DeBont, Melanie Nelson, Amy Nelson, Todd Nelson, Travis Schenzel and Mitchell Schenzel; five great grandchildren, Madison and Melanie Dorow, Brittany and Brianna Fisher and Damien Kaup. Geraldine is further survived by her brothers and sisters, Henriette (Ken) Lenz, Neenah; Norbert (Mary) Kilsdonk, Little Chute; Rose Knight, Appleton; Les (Beth) Kilsdonk, Kaukauna; brothers and sister-in-law, Theo Wyngaard, Marilyn Evers, Alice (Moe) Mollen, Karl (Judy) Maertz; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Gerald A. Maertz, on August 15, 1995, her sister, Verena Ritchie, her father and mother-in-law, Ray and Rose Maertz, her brothers-in–law, Ed Knight, Oswald Ritchie, Spin Wyngaard and Robert Evers.
The funeral liturgy for Geraldine will be held at 11:00 am, Wednesday, October 23, 2002, at ST. BERNARD CATHOLIC CHURCH, 1617 West Pine Street, with Father John P. Bergstadt officiating. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home from 4-8 pm, Tuesday and on Wednesday at the church from 10:00 am until the time of the mass. A parish prayer and scripture service will be held at 7:00 pm Tuesday. A memorial fund is being established.
The family would like to thank the doctors and staff of Appleton Medical Center Heart Institute, Appleton Medical Center ICU and Heart Room for their care and support.
