Gerald “Pat” Flauger, age 89, of Appleton, passed away at Appleton Medical Center on Thursday, November 19, 2015. Pat was born on July 6, 1926, in a log cabin by the Red River in Gresham to the late Louis and Meta (Petrich). He married Jean, and later Elaine Flauger on August 5, 1995; she preceded him in death on March 2, 2011. Pat was employed at Eggers Industries, Appleton, for 24 years as a skilled wood shaper, retiring in 1992. He enjoyed sheepshead games with friends and family, was an avid Packer fan (taping all of the games from 1992 to 2001), and enjoyed extensive travel with Elaine. Both Pat and Elaine enjoyed gardening and their home was well-known in the neighborhood as the “Flower House.”
Survivors include his son, Thomas Flauger, Appleton; his grandson, Michael (Tina DuBois) Flauger, Denmark; his great granddaughter, Leila Flauger; his sisters, Sharon (Jule) Raddant, Gresham, and Gail (Robert) Maas, Marion; his brothers, Louis (Doris) Flauger, and Larry Flauger, both of Gresham; his sister-in-law, Mary Hamlin, Appleton; Elaine's family members; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his sisters, Waldine Maccaux and Janice Gleasner; and his wives.
Memorial services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 28, 2015, at WICHMANN FUNERAL HOME—TRI-COUNTY CHAPEL, 1592 Oneida Street, Menasha, with Fr. Dan Felton officiating. Friends may call directly at the funeral home on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services. The family would like to thank Mr. Christopher Schumacher, the staff at Carolina Manor, and the staff of the 7th Floor Oncology Department at AMC, for their loving care.
