Gerald “Jerry” Stanley Wittlin, age 89, Town of Center, Wisconsin, passed away on October 26, 2018 at the Wittlin Family Farm, in the same room he was born in on July 14, 1929 to the late Erwin and Elizabeth (Dorn) Wittlin. After graduating from Shiocton High School, he went on to enjoy a lifetime as a farmer. Jerry met the love of his life, Winnifred Pierre, when he was 15 and she 13. The two were united in marriage on June 16, 1953 at St. Denis Catholic Church in Shiocton and would raise a son and 6 daughters together on their farm. Jerry was a lifetime parishioner of St. Patrick Catholic Church and was its oldest living member at the time of his death. He was a kind, faith-filled, devoted man who loved chocolates and spending time with his family. More than anything, he enjoyed loving Winnie and making her happy.
Jerry is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Winnie; daughters, Mary Beth (Guy) Wittlin Henry, Julie (Bob) Guzman, Jody (Mike) Griesbach, Jenny (Pat) O’Brien, Suzie (Tim) Vosters and Nancy Wittlin; grandchildren, Andy (Elizabeth) Henry, Katie (Steve) Waite, Caroyln (Nick) Frascino, Jared (Kim) Guzman, Laura Henry, Justin (Amber) Guzman, Maria Guzman, Joseph Griesbach, Tommy (Liz) Griesbach, Claire Griesbach, Patrick Vosters, Emma Vosters, Theresa Griesbach and Rachel Vosters; 7 great-granchildren; and many nieces, nephews, family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his son, Paul, and 5 siblings.
A visitation for Jerry will be held from 5-7 PM on Friday, November 2, 2018 at Wichmann Funeral Home, 537 N. Superior St., Appleton, WI 54911 with a Vigil Service and praying of the Holy Rosary at 7 PM. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated for him at 1 PM on Saturday, November 3, at St. Patrick Catholic Church, N3686 WI-76, Stephensville, by Rev. John P. Kastenholz, O. Praem. Friends and family may visit from 12 PM until time of the Mass. Interment will be in St. Patrick Cemetery, Stephensville.
Jerry’s family would like to extend a special thank you to the caring staff of Affinity Hospice and to all the family and friends who have supported them throughout the past 5 ½ years.
