Gerald F “Jerry” Goehler, 80, passed away on Tuesday, June 30, 2015 at home.
Jerry was born on May 2, 1935 in Appleton to Michael and Frances (Kugler) Goehler. On June 1, 1957 he was united in marriage to Mary LeClair. He was a veteran having served in the US Army in France. Jerry was very proud of being a machine tender with Riverside Papers for 44 years. He enjoyed deer hunting, fishing, especially ice fishing, going to the casino and all of his pets throughout the years. Jerry especially liked spending time with his family and their camping trips. Attending his grandchildren's sporting events were always special to him. He was an avid sports fan and enjoyed watching the Packers, Brewers and Badgers. Most of all he was dedicated to his wife Mary and the time they spent together will always be cherished.
Jerry is survived by his wife of 58 years, Mary, three children; Kari (Greg) Mogensen, Appleton, Chuck (Cathy) Appleton, Jayne (Kevin) Hope, Leesburg, Virginia, seven grandchildren; Alaina (Tyler) Blackbourn, Doug (Becky) Mogensen, Kindra (Ryan Bender) Goehler, Andrew (partner Laura Kasten) Goehler, Ben (girlfriend Amber Zius) Goehler, Allison Hope and Kellie Hope, three great grandchildren; Emery Mogensen, Brock Blackbourn and Anthea Bender, his in-laws; Lawrence (Doty) LeClair, Dave (Sandy) LeClair, Bill (Karen) LeClair, Bonnie LeClair and Phyliss LeClair, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, six brothers and sisters and two brothers-in-law.
The memorial service for Jerry will be held on Sunday, July 5, 2015 at 4:00 PM at the WICHMANN FUNERAL HOME, 537 S. Superior St. with Deacon Gib Schmidt officiating. A time of visitation will be held on Sunday from 2:00 PM until the time of the service at the funeral home.
