Jerry Van Den Wildenberg, age 85, passed away on Saturday afternoon, January 14, 2017, in the care of his loving daughter, Lisa. Jerry was born in Appleton on July 13, 1931, son of the late Peter and Henrietta (Sanderfoot) Van Den Wildenberg. He married the love of his life, Arlene Rehfeldt at Zion Lutheran Church on July 19, 1952. Arlene preceded him in death in 2013. Jerry was employed by the city of Appleton for over thirty years, and spent another twenty-six years farming with his family. He enjoyed playing checkers, fair games, fishing, and cracking jokes with family and friends.
Jerry is survived by his three children: Lisa Van Den Wildenberg; Rodney (Sandy) Van Den Wildenberg; and Randy (Lorrie) Van Den Wildenberg; five grandchildren: Dan and his special friend Shannon; Jesse and his fiancée Debbie; Tabitha; Jason and his special friend Jess; and Torey. His great-grandchildren are Lexie, Lance, Starr, Jayden, Jaxson, Andrew, Leo, Hayden, Kyndall, Bristol, Elijah, Estella, and Louie. He is also survived by his brother: Roger Van Den Wildenberg; dear friends: Marie and Laura; two caring and special nieces who were like sisters and best friends: Cecilia Fischer and Julie Vanden Heuvel, and many nieces and nephews. Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, his loving wife Arlene, his siblings: Norman, Ceil, and Ilamae; and a granddaughter-in-law: Heather.
The funeral service for Jerry will be held at 3:00 PM Friday, January 20, 2017 at ZION LUTHERAN CHURCH, 912 N. Oneida Street in Appleton, with Rev. John Czarnota officiating. Interment will be in Highland Memorial Park. Family and friends are invited to gather at the church on Friday afternoon from 1:00 PM until the time of the service.
