Age 77, passed away on Saturday evening at Colony Oaks Care Center. Gerald served in the U.S. Navy from 1943-1946 in WWII Pacific Theater aboard the USS Mobile (CL63). After coming back from the war he married Mary F. (Waring) on September 25, 1948. After a career of over the road semi-truck driving, he retired from Rich Products. He enjoyed woodworking, boating, fishing, and spending time with his family.
Gerald is survived by his wife of 51 years Mary; five sons, David (Barbara), Florida; Michael, Florida; Steven (Bette), Appleton; Dennis (Terrie), California; Gerald “Chip” (Pat) Vallard, California; one daughter, Lori (Kevin) Zimmer, Appleton; 10 grandchildren, Angela (Bill) Urtnowski, Colorado; Tim (Shannon) Konitzer, Sobieski; Adam, Amie, and Melissa Vallard, Appleton; Brent and Eric Vallard, California; Nichole, Mary, Michelle, and Kyle Zimmer, Appleton; five great-grandchildren, Logan, Hasko, Florida; Cirelda “Mary” (George) Snow, Florida; and Leona (Ken) Ems, Washington; a brother-in-law, George (Cycile) Waring, Kaukauna; a sister-in-law, Jean Wenzel, Green Bay; and a special friend, Paul Roovers; also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by ;his parents, Gregory and Mary Vallard; a son, Thomas Vallard; three brothers, Clarence (Monica), Caesar, and Jerome Vallard.
A memorial service will be held on Sunday, May 13, 2001 at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home with Reverend Jean Wenzel officiating. Friends will be received at the funeral home on Sunday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service (11:00 a.m.) Inurnment will be at St. Mary’s Cemetery.
