Georgiana Grant Lingelbach, age 94, of Appleton, passed away Saturday, September 1, 2007. She was born in Rochester, NY, on June 20, 1913, daughter of the late Frederick Harrison Grant and Helen Tucker Grant. Georgiana grew up in Owantonna MN and graduated from Grandview High School, Columbus, Ohio. She attended Ohio State University and worked in retail for Lazarus and the Ohio Gas Company. In 1943 – 1945 Georgiana was a member of the American Red Cross and saw service in Africa and Italy. She met her husband, Charles J. Lingelbach, in Cerignola, Italy and was married in the Capitola and St. Pauls American Episcopal Church, Rome, Italy, on October 2, 1944. Georgie was a member of All Saints Episcopal Church and the Infant Circle of Kings Daughters for over 50 years. She shared her love of walking tours with her husband in the British Isles, Bavaria, the Appalachian Trail, the Pacific NW, Hawaii and their summer home in Door County. Georgie is survived by her husband of 62 years, Charles J. Lingelbach; her son, Jonathan Grant Lingelbach and his friend Carolyn Grant, Cleveland Heights, OH; her daughter, Anne Tucker Lingelbach, Appleton; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her sisters, Eleanor and Harriet and a brother Samuel. A memorial service for Georgiana will be held at 11:00 am, Wednesday, September 5, 2007, at ALL SAINTS EPISCOPAL CHURCH, 100 North Drew Street, with Father Patrick Twomey officiating. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Tuesday from 4 –6 pm and on Wednesday at the church from 10:00 am until the time of the service. In lieu of flowers memorial funds have been established for All Saints Episcopal Church, the American Red Cross and the Infant Circle of Kings Daughters.
