Age 65, died Monday morning, November 11, 2002, at his residence, surrounded by his family and friends, following a short battle with cancer. He was born September 25, 1937, in Sun, West Virginia, to Emmitt Freeman and Annie Virginia (Lewis) Withrow. George joined the U. S. Navy following school. He married Patricia Ann Jansen, on August 13, 1970, she survives him. George was employed by Foremost Foods until his retirement in 1996. He is further survived by his two girls Coco and Addie and his four children, Joan Marie Kennelly, (VA); George R Jr. (Sheila), (VA); Robert F Sr.(Tina), Kimberly; Brian K. (Kate), Kimberly; and his six grandchildren, David and Matthew Kennelly, (Va.) Kendra, Robert Jr., Gretchen and Madison. His sisters Jean Elkins (MI) Iris (Don) Giles (WV); his mother-in-law Florence Jansen; his brothers-in-law, Mike (Cheryl) Jansen, Jim (Julie) Jansen, Jeff (Pam) Jansen; his wife’s Aunt Ethel and Uncle Bob Promer and sister-in-law, Beanie; many nieces and nephews. Special friends Herman and Marie and Sue and Jack. He was preceded in death by his parents, his sister Betty, his brothers Jack, Kenneth, Tom, his father-in-law, James Jansen and a brother-in-law, Vernon Elkins. Funeral services for George will be held at 7:00 pm, Wednesday, at the Jansen Fargo Funeral Home, with Reverend Nolan Gnewuch officiating. Friends may call at the funeral home from 4:00 pm Wednesday, until the time of the service. In lieu of flowers a memorial fund is being established.

God grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change. Courage to change the things I can. And the wisdom to know the difference.
