Age 86, passed away on Wednesday evening, November 8, 2006 at Heartwood Homes in Menasha. He was born on August 10, 1920 in Appleton to the late George and Mary (Steger) Rippl. George proudly served his country as a Sgt. in the United States Army during WWII. He worked for many years and retired from Wisconsin Wireworks/Albany International. George enjoyed traveling all over the country and hiking.
He will be sadly missed by his sister: Dorothy Burton, Kaukauna; brother: Clarence Rippl; as well as many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Ray.
Funeral services for Mr. Rippl will be held on Saturday, November 11, 2006 at 11:00 A.M. at the Wichmann Funeral Home (537 North Superior Street). Friends may call at the funeral home on Saturday from 9 A.M. until the time of the service. Interment will be in St. Joseph Cemetery, Appleton. In lieu of flowers, memorials in George’s name are encouraged to Alzheimer’s Research.
The family would like to thank Jason Schmitz and the wonderful staff at Heartwood Homes, and also George’s doctor, John Barkmeier for their very special care.
