Gary Allen “Snowman” Snow, age 62 of Greenville, WI passed away on February 26, 2023. He was born to Bobby and Margie (Benedict) Snow on January 13, 1961 in Lincoln, IL. Gary graduated from Olympia High School with the class of ’79 and subsequently graduated from Illinois Central College not long after in 1981 with a degree in Architectural Drafting and Design. Gary married Shelley Williams in 1991 and though it was not meant to be, they had two wonderful children together.
Gary was such a warm, caring person and, while he was a smaller man, his presence filled whatever room he occupied. He was an active member of both the Greenville EMS and Greenville Lion’s Club for many years – both of which he was deeply passionate about. Gary liked taking his son on ride-alongs when working in EMS services and would sometimes sneak into the fire trucks with him, despite not being a firefighter, and liked dancing with his daughter in the living room to Shakira. Gary was a Christian man and a member of Shepherd of the Hill Lutheran Church for many years. You could often find Gary out on the town or in the bar, buying a drink for or just sharing a drink with a good friend or three. Gary enjoyed baseball, particularly the Brewers and the Timber Rattlers, who he always cheered on whenever there was a game playing. More than anything, though, he loved his family and friends, even if he wasn’t always sure of how to show it.
Gary is survived by his children, Adam Snow and Adrianne (Peter) Van Asten; his grandchildren, Addison Snow and Paisley Van Asten; his significant other, Tammy Pickett; his brother, Greg (Laurie) Snow; as well as several nieces and nephews, other extended relatives, and dear friends.
Gary is preceded in death by his parents, Bobby and Margie Snow.
A memorial visitation will be held for Gary from 3-7 PM on Thursday, March 16, 2023 at Wichmann Funeral Home, 537 N. Superior St, Appleton, WI 54911 with a memorial service to follow at 7 PM. Gary will be laid to rest at Mount Hope Cemetery in McLean, IL with his parents. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to the Greenville Fire/EMS or Greenville Lion’s Club in Gary’s honor and in accordance with his wishes.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to the Greenville EMS for being there for Gary whenever he needed them.
