Gary D. Fiebelkorn, age 63, of Appleton, passed away after a courageous battle with cancer on Friday, October 13, 2017. He was born on January 20, 1954 in Appleton to Hillert “Ed” (deceased) and Geraldine (Wege) Fiebelkorn.
Gary graduated from Appleton High School West in 1972. A few short years later he married the love of his life, Ellen Eggert, on October 19, 1974. Their wedding ceremony was held at Zion Lutheran Church in Appleton where he was also baptized and confirmed. Together they were blessed with their two daughters, Jennifer and Sara.
He was employed with several companies including: Allis Calmers, AC Compressor, GE, Graphics Packaging and Baxter Health Care. Gary had a reputation of being a hard worker wherever he went.
Gary enjoyed fishing, Polka dancing and simply having a good time with his family. He particularly loved those Sunday drives picking cattails and pussy willow with his daughters. Gary was a gentle loving man with a big heart and his family will miss him dearly.
Gary is survived by his wife, Ellen; his two daughters, Jennifer (Ben) Paulson and Sara (Matt) Leick; his grandchildren, Wyatt and Adaerya Paulson and Brady and Evan Leick. He is further survived by his siblings, Jim (Rita) Fiebelkorn, Roger (Mary Ann) Fiebelkorn, Sandy Fiebelkorn and Julie Fiebelkorn. Gary also leaves behind many other family members and friends too numerous to list but never forgotten.
The Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, October 19, 2017 at 11:30 a.m. at ZION LUTHERAN CHURCH, 912 N. Oneida Street in Appleton. Visitation will held at church starting at 9:30 a.m. until the time of the service. Visitation will also take place the night before on Wednesday, October 18, 2017 at 3:30 p.m. till 6:30 p.m. at Wichmann Funeral Home, 537 N. Superior Street in Appleton. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in Gary’s name. Online condolences can be shared at www.wichmannfargo.com.
Gary’s family would like to thank the staff of ThedaCare Hospice for the compassionate care shown to him and his family. They would also like to acknowledge the many friends and family that have kept him in their prayers.
