Age 46, passed on Monday, October 29, 2001 after a courageous battle with cancer. Fred was born to Allan and Rita (Van Eyck) Mischler on August 22, 1955. He graduated from Kaukauna High School in 1973. For the past 19 years he was a dedicated employee for Van Groll Trucking as a semi-driver. Fred enjoyed fishing and camping in the Boulder Junction area, playing his guitar, metal detecting, and photography. He also enjoyed watching the Packers and all kinds of auto racing. Fred earned a pilot’s license and enjoyed flying. Fred is survived by his mother, Rita Mischler, Kaukauna; 4 brothers, Dave, Dan, Bill, Kaukauna; Jeff (Krista), Kimberly; 2 sisters, Linda (Mike) Janda, New London and Diane Kelly, Seymour; neices and nephews, Shannon and Jay Kelly, Ken Janda, Venesha Jones and Melissa (Jesse) Quintanilla; 2 great-nephews, Darius and Mekhi; other relatives and friends, especially Dennis Ebben, who was like a brother to him. He was preceded in death by his father (1973). The funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m., on Friday, November 2, 2001 at the FARGO FUNERAL HOME, 400 West Wisconsin Avenue, Kaukauna, with Fr. David Schmidt officiating. Friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday, November 1, from 4:00-8:00 p.m. and on Friday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. Burial will be at St. Mary Cemetery, Kaukauna, following the funeral service. The family extends a special thank you to the staff at Appleton Medical Center. A memorial fund is being established.
