Frank Vils passed away a short time before his 94th birthday on Tuesday evening at a local nursing home. He was born in Kaukauna on February 7, 1913, son of the late August and Elizabeth (Nushart) Vils. During World War II, he served as a member of the United States Army. For over forty years he was employed by Thilmany Pulp and Paper in Kaukauna where he was a member of the Quarter Century Club. Frank retired in 1975.
He is survived by four sisters and a brother: Rose Voigt of Appleton; Alice Vils of Little Chute; Grace Jansen of Little Chute; Marie (Jerome) Truyman of Kaukauna; Richard Vils of Chippewa Falls; a sister-in-law: Stella Vils of Kaukauna; and many nieces, nephews, and their children whom he loved very much. Frank was preceded in death by his parents, a brother Joseph Vils, a sister Blanche Hansen, brothers-in-law Lawrence Voigt, Vincent Jansen and Clarence Hansen; a sister-in-law Donna Vils, and a nephew John (Carol) Hansen.
A prayer service will be held at 10:00 AM on Saturday, February 10, 2007 at the Fargo Funeral Home in Kaukauna, with Fr. Jerry Pastors officiating. Interment will be in St. Mary Cemetery, Kaukauna. Friends may call at the funeral home on Saturday morning from 9:00 AM until the time of the service.
