GRANBERG, FRANK GOODWIN, JR.
Kaukauna
Age 75, died Sunday, March 19, 2006 at Kindred Hearts Assisted Living following a lengthy illness. Frank was born in Oshkosh on November 15, 1930, son of the late Frank G. Sr. and Dorothy (Trittin) Granberg. He spent his early years in Oshkosh and later moved to Kaukauna in 1944. Frank was a graduate of Kaukauna High School, where he had the honor of having his “Galloping Ghost” design chosen as the school logo. He attended Lawrence College for one year, majoring in Art. He later served in the U.S. Army as a radio operator and was discharged in 1953. For 35 years Frank was employed by the City of Kaukauna Electric and Water Department as a power plant operator and retired in 1991 as a power plant supervisor.
Frank was a 15-year member and former president of the McDowell Male Chorus with which he sang bass. He was also very active in the Kaukauna Arts Guild and was well known for his beautiful and intricate carvings of wild birds. He was a great reader and enjoyed music, laughter and time spent with his family.
Frank is survived by four children: Karen Aman of St. Louis, MO, Anders (Patricia) Granberg of Kaukauna, Julie Granberg of Appleton and Timothy (Traci) Granberg of El Segundo, CA; six grandchildren: Joshua, Timothy, Christopher, Taya, Tyler and Jackson; his brother: Christopher (Margaret) Granberg of Oshkosh. He is also survived by several nephews, a great-niece and many good and special friends.
The funeral service will be held at 1:00 pm at FARGO FUNERAL HOME on Wednesday, March 22, 2006 with Rev. Walter Steinbach officiating. Interment will be at Union Cemetery in Kaukauna following the service. Friends may call at the Funeral Home on Wednesday from 10:30 am until the time of service. Memorials to Heartland Home Health Care and Hospice appreciated.
The family wishes to extend a heartfelt thanks to all the wonderful people who cared for Frank at both Kindred Hearts and Heartland. We will never forget your kindness.
