Age 83, passed away on Saturday, October 16, 2004 at ManorCare Health Center. He was born on September 5, 1921 in Manitowoc the son of the late Adolph and Clara (Novy) Schenian. He served his country in the United States Army during World War II in the European Theater. On July 15, 1944 he married Mildred Hrabik in Tisch Mills, Wisconsin. He was involved most of his life in the retail shoe business, a large part of that time with J.C. Penny. He was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Appleton and was also a member with the American Legion Post # 38 in Appleton, and was very active in the Legion Post in Denmark, WI.
He is survived by his wife Mildred of Appleton, his children: Kay Marie (Gene) Gregory of Apple Valley, California, Dale (Mary) Schenian of Mansfield, Ohio, Gary (Eileen) Schenian of Green Bay, and Lori (Jim) Fuhrmann of Oconomowoc; one brother Kenneth (Lorraine) Schenian of Waukesha; and 9 grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his son Neil Schenian.
A memorial mass will be conducted on Wednesday, October 20, 2004 at 11:00 AM at St. Mary Catholic Church, 312 South State Street in Appleton with the Rev. Michael O’Rourke officiating. Entombment will take place at St. Joseph Cemetery. Friends may call at the church on Saturday from 10:00 AM until the time of the mass. A Memorial fund is being established.
