Francis A. Sommerhalder
Age 87 of Menasha, passed away unexpectedly Thursday, April 4, 2002 at his home. Francis was born on April 20, 1914, son of the late Henry and Matilda (Diehl) Sommerhalder. He was an Insurance agent for State Farm Insurance Company for over 30 years until his retirement. Francis was a Honorary life member of Knights of Columbus, Menasha 1838.
Francis is survived by his wife, Ardena, daughter; Mary (Michael) Johnson, CO, Gary (Deborah) Sommerhalder, Neenah, step-daughter Bonnie Kryszak, Menasha, 4 Grandchildren, 7 step-grandchildren, 9 Great grandchildren, and a brother Joe Sommerhalder, Little Chute. Further survived by many nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Francis was preceded in death by his parents, first wife, Viola, one daughter Patricia, step son Keith, three brothers and five sisters.
The Funeral Service will be held on Monday, April 8, 2002 at 11:00 AM, at St. Mary Catholic Church (312 S. State St. Appleton) with Father Michael O'Rourke officiating. Friends will be received at the church from 9 AM until the time of service. Interment will be at St. Mary Cemetery in Menasha.
