Age 81, passed away Monday, February 24, 2003 at St. Paul Home. She was born in Freedom on February 6, 1922, daughter of the late William and Helen (Hagen) Tiseling. On June 22, 1950, Frances married Clark Vander Heiden; he preceded her in death on December 15, 1976. For many years, Frances worked as a cook in nearly every local restaurant, and later was employed as the housekeeping supervisor at Kaukauna Community Hospital. Many will remember her for her love of playing cards, especially sheephead, as well as watching football and WWF wrestling matches. Some of her greatest joys came from watching her children and grandchildren grow and attending their various events. Frances was also a longtime member of St. Mary Catholic Church and its Altar Society.
She is survived by a daughter: Nancy (Rick) Remley of Freedom and their son Nathan; and by five sons: Roger (JoAnn) Vander Heiden of Kaukauna and their children Heidi, Heather, Holly, and Lucas; Don (Susie) Vander Heiden of Kaukauna and their children Shealaina and Adam; Rick Vander Heiden of Kaukauna, his special friend Debbie, and his children Brandon and Shane; Mike (Patti) Vander Heiden of Manitowoc and their children Crystal and Casey Miller; and Clark (Kay) Vander Heiden, Jr. of Kaukauna and their children Angela and her special friend Raul, Sarah, Samantha, and Leah; four great-grandchildren: Justin Retza, Kayla Jorgenson, Lauren Hernandez, and Isaiah Hernandez. Frances is also survived by a brother: Paul (Roberta) Tiseling of Menasha; a sister: Rosemary Cleveland of Sheboygan; and a brother-in-law: Marvin Evers of Little Chute, as well as by numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband in 1976, a sister Bernice Evers, a brother Donald Tiseling, and a brother-in-law Norm Cleveland.
The funeral liturgy for Frances will be held at 3:00 PM on Wednesday, February 26, 2003 at ST. MARY CATHOLIC CHURCH, 119 W. 7th Street in Kaukauna with Fr. Robert Udulutsch officiating. Interment will be in St. Patrick Cemetery, Sniderville. Friends may call directly at the church on Wednesday from 1:00 PM until the hour of the service.
