Fr. Ambrose DeGroot

Fr. Ambrose DeGroot Ofm.Cap.<br>Appleton<br>Age 88, passed away on Friday June 2, 2006 at Fransiscan Care Center. Fr. was born May 26, 1918 son of the late Peter and Mary (Kiefer) DeGroot. He was invested into the Capuchin Order on August 26, 1937. He professed his Perpetual Vows on August 29, 1941 and was ordained on May 16, 1945. Fr. was a member of the Capuchin Preaching Band for many years. He resided at the Fidelis Friary in Appleton until entering Fransiscan Care Center. Fr. is survived by sister in laws Sally and Rita DeGroot and was preceded in death by 3 brothers Robert, James and Fr. Frederick.<br><br>The Funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday June 6, 2006 at 10:30 A.M. at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Appleton with Fr. Keith Clark Ofm.Cap. officiating. Visitation will be held from 5-7:30 P.M. on Monday at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Appleton. A wake service will be held at 7:30 P.M. Visitation will also be held at the church on Tuesday from 10 A.M. until the time of the Funeral Mass. Burial will be in Mt. Calvary Cemetery, in Mt. Calvary, Wisconsin.
