Age 93, passed away in Appleton on Thursday, October 20, 2005. He was born in Colgate, WI, on August 31, 1912, son of the late Charles and Laura (Hanf) Holz. On June 12, 1941, he married Irene Schroeder in Greenville. Forrest farmed for many years on his dairy farm in the Town of Center and worked as a carpenter for several years. He enjoyed working in The Heritage woodworking shop. Forrest was a faithful member of Faith Community United Methodist Church where he attended the Adult Bible Class.
Forrest is survived by his wife of 64 years, Irene; brother, Victor (Arlene) Holz of Appleton; sisters-in-law: Vera Holz of Appleton and Dorothy Holz of Appleton; brother-in-law: Walter Schroeder of Greenville; nieces and nephew: Carl (Sally) Holz, Carol (Vernon) Arneson, Gary (Charr) Holz, Arlene (Jerry) Rhiel, Lee (Mary) Holz, Laverne (Elaine) Holz, Judy (Harold) Ort, Ronald (Joan) Krull, Merlin (Judy) Krull, Gene (Karen) Krull, Daryl (Kathy) Krull, Allen (Connie) Krull, and Linda (Bill) Allred; and several great nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his infant daughter, Laurel Jean; brothers: Carl Holz and George (Sada) Holz; sister, Irene (Howard) Holz and Grace (Alfred) Krull; sisters and brothers-in-law: Eleanore (Milton) Wussow, Nelda (Myron) Leitzke, Harold (Germaine) Schroeder, Milton Holz and Harry Holz.
The funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, October 24, 2005, at FAITH COMMUNITY UNITED METHODIST CHURCH, N1966 Julius Dr., Greenville, with Rev. Thomas A. Lambrecht officiating. Friends will be received at the church from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the service. Entombment will be at 2:00 p.m. in Appleton Highland Memorial Park.
The family extends a special thank you to the staff at Peabody Manor and Theda Care at Home Hospice for their wonderful care.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund in Forrest’s name is being established.
