Age 91, died surrounded by his family, on Monday, December 01, 2003 at St. Elizabeth Hospital, following a brief illness. Floyd was born in Ladysmith, Wisconsin on April 7, 1912, the son of the late Harry and Nellie (Donahue) Hanson. He married Edna Vincent on February 14, 1935. She preceded him in death in 1975. Floyd’s family was very special to him. A special highlight of his life was spending time with them. Floyd loved his family and they would spend every Sunday, birthday and holiday together. He was a skilled woodworker and took pride in creating crafts for his family. Floyd also loved electronics, his CB radio and his card club. He will be greatly missed by his children, David Hanson; Shirley Bartels; Charles (Deborah) Hanson; his sister, Juanita Knuth; brothers, Erwin and J. Leslie Hanson; grandchildren, Donald (Joann) Bartels; Vickie (Mark) Venus; Rick Hanson; Kelly (Chuck) Neumann; Nancy Jansen; and great-grandchildren, Stephanie and Andy Bartels; Jessica Vincent; and Tammy Venus; Amanda and Lydia Hanson; and Aaron, Nathan and Kameron Neumann. Floyd was preceded in death by his brother, Wayne; his daughter-in-law, Kathy Hanson; and son-in-law, Donald Bartels. The funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m., on Thursday, December 4, 2003 at WICHMANN FUNERAL HOME, with Rev. Kurt Kovanen officiating. Visitors will be received at the funeral home on Wednesday, December 3 from 4 until 8 p.m., and again on Thursday from 10 until 10:45 a.m. The interment will be held at Highland Memorial Park, Appleton. As an expression of sympathy, a memorial fund has been established. The family would like to thank Dr. Logan, Dr. Prato, Nancy W. and the support staff at St. Elizabeth Hospital, for their loving care of Floyd.
