Floyd Allen Hammer, age 89, passed away on April 22, 2025, at Eagle Point in Appleton. Floyd was born on June 9, 1935, to Elmer and Tenie (Johnson) Hammer in Madison, SD. He farmed with his father and his brother William. In 1957, on June 15th, he married Vonnie Manthey of Ramona, SD, they shared the next 68 years. In 1966, Floyd and Vonnie moved to Appleton, WI where they raised their five children and made a wonderful life.
Floyd was a farmer from early childhood. He was a gentle soul who knew the value of hard work. He lived his life in service to his God. Floyd served many people in Wisconsin doing sales of farming machinery. He enjoyed traveling in the RV with his wife in their retirement years.
Floyd is survived by his wife Yvonne “Vonnie; his children: Julie (Sue Grunn) Hammer, Terry Wood, Kathy Lewis, Darlene (Dennis) Nagan and Pastor Michael (Connie) Hammer; and his grandchildren, great grandchildren, and other family and friends.
Floyd was preceded in death by his parents and other family members.
At Floyd’s request for simplicity, he will be remembered privately by his family.
