Floyd Leslie Claggett, age 79 of Appleton, WI passed away on July 24, 2023. He was the son of Mickey and Sally (Youn) McColgan, born on June 13, 1944 in Honolulu, Hawaii. Floyd was a proud Navy veteran of the Vietnam War. He later went onto work for General Motor Company and Akrosil until his retirement in 2003. Floyd married the love of his life, Dorothy Miller in April of 1967 in California and together, they raised 6 wonderful children.

Floyd was a very independent man who liked to do things his way. He was a proud member and representative of the worker’s union and supported their causes throughout his life. He really enjoyed a good home-cooked meal and savored good cooking. You could often find Floyd at the casino playing bingo – one of his favorite games. More than anything, though, Floyd loved his children and grandchildren and was proud of every single one of them.

Floyd is survived by his wife, Dorothy; his children, Michael, Christina (Tom), Nick (Sarah), Lisa (Jeff), Patrick (Jenny); his grandchildren, Elizabeth, Erin, Kane (Claire), Keanu (Sydney), Keoni (Kristen), Valerie, Thomas, Dylan (Corinne), Emma (Elmer), Ryan, Keena (Kinsey), Tyler, Trevor (Rachelle), and Madilyn; 5 great-grandchildren; his siblings, Colleen (Lee) and Russell; his siblings-in-law, Sue and Kenny; his best friend from the Navy, Sam; as well as many nieces, nephews, other extended relatives, and dear friends.

Floyd is preceded in death by his parents, Mickey and Sally; his daughter, Anna; his parents-in-law, Harvey and Dorothy; his grandchildren, Nathaniel and Mae; his sister-in-law, Nancy; and his brother-in-law, Keith.

In respect to Floyd’s wishes, no funeral services will be held.

Floyd’s family would like to thank ThedaCare At Home Hospice, especially Todd and Ida for the care and compassion they provided to Floyd for the last few months.
