Age 86, passed away at Appleton Health Care Center on Thursday, July 30, 2009. She was born in Hortonville on December 6, 1922 the daughter of the late Joseph and Elizabeth (Habel) Seif. Florence graduated from Hortonville High School in 1941. On August 1, 1942 she married her husband of 49 years, Howard Siewert. He preceded her in death in 1991. Flo, as she was known to many, worked for Zaugs in the lunch program at Appleton Public Schools, from 1965 until her retirement in 1996, 25 of those years at Appleton East. Many summers were spent working at the War Birds Café at E.A.A. Florence loved to dance, travel, and shop. Her grandchildren will always remember shopping trips with Grandma and going out to lunch. Holidays with her family were very special to Florence, especially Christmas.

Florence is survived by two sons: Terry (Carmen) Siewert and Randy (Carol) Siewert, both of Appleton; six grandchildren: Scott (Carrie) Siewert, Deanna Siewert, Heather (Paul) Mueller, Jason Siewert, Jennifer (Pat) Salm and Travis (fiancé, Miranda Lyman) Siewert; four great-grandchildren: Joshua and Allison Siewert, and Ben and Cody Mueller; brother, Claude Seif; two sisters-in-law: Mary and Ellie Seif; very special friend, Louise Roy; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband Howard; her parents; four brothers: Earl, Nolan, Melvin and Joe; three sisters: Madlyn (Harry) Redzinski, Louise (Al) Wuyts and Bernice (Kenneth) Cottreill.

The funeral liturgy will be at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, August 3, 2009 at ST. PIUS X CATHOLIC CHURCH, 500 W. Marquette St., Appleton, with Fr. Thomas J. Farrell officiating. Friends will be received at the church on Monday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the liturgy. Burial will be in Appleton Highland Memorial Park.

The family extends a special thank you to the staffs at Fresenius Dialysis Services, Appleton Retirement Community and Appleton Health Care Center.

A memorial fund in Florence's name is being established.
