Florence E. (Boylan) Vande Hey

Age 76, died after a long battle with Multiple Sclerosis on January 2, 2001, in Kaukauna. Florence was born to the late Edward and Prudence (Browne) Boylan in Greenleaf, Wisconsin on August 25, 1925. She graduated from Wrightstown High school in 1943. Florence continued her education by attending Outagamie Rural Normal School, and earned a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh in 1965. Florence married Mark R.Vande Hey at St. John Catholic Church on August 28, 1948, in Morrison, Wisconsin. Retiring in 1977, Florence spent 33 years teaching elementary school at Conrad School from 1944 to 1956, Askeaton Elementary school from 1956 to 1963, and Wrightstown Elementary School from 1963 until her retirement. Education and travelling were important parts of Florence’s life. Florence is survived by her husband Mark R. Vande Hey: 1 daughter; Cheryl (Thomas) Jakl of Kaukauna: 2 grandchildren; Seth and Leigh Jakl: 2 sisters; Mary Kennedy of Green Bay, and Vivian Du Prey of Oskosh: 1 Brother; James (Bernice) Boylan of Greenleaf: 6 brothers-in-law; Gordon Vande Hey of Menasha, Roland (Rita)Vande Hey of Wrightstown, Orville Vande Hey of De Pere, Gerald (Jean) Vande Hey of Denmark, Hilary (Beverly) Vande Hey of De Pere, Virgil (Sandra) Vande Hey of De Pere: 2 sisters-in-law; Mary (Leonard) Sprangers of Freedom, and Lorretta Sanderfoot of Green Bay: 3 god-children; John Du Prey of Oshkosh, Debra Pierquet of Green Bay, and Amanda Vande Hey of Menasha: and a special friend, Ellen Reimer of Freedom. Florence is preceded in death by her parents: 1 sister, Infant Anna Boylan: 8 brothers-in-law; William Kennedy, Robert Du Prey, Howard Vande Hey, Ralph Vande Hey, Clayton Vande Hey, Myron Vande Hey, Eugene Vande Hey, and Alois Vande Hey: 7 sisters-in-law; Vivian Eisman, Marlene Griesbach, Murilla Vande Hey, Pat Vande Hey, Janet Vande Hey, Margaret Vande Hey, and Bernice Vande Hey. The funeral liturgy will be at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 5, 2001, at SACRED HEART CATHOLIC CHURCH, N341 Military Road, Sherwood, with Fr. Kenneth Frozena Officiating. Friends may call at the funeral home on Friday, January 4, from 4-8 p.m. and at church from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service. The family extends a special thank you to the many friends at the St. Paul Home.
