Florence Claire Kalman

KALMAN, FLORENCE CLAIRE

Florence C. Kalman, age 93, died on October 19, 2006, at Ambassador Good Samaritan in New Hope, Minnesota. Florence was born on January 9, 1913, in Appleton to the late Marcus and Minnie (Meyer) Steinhauer. She married Jack H. Kalman in Appleton on March 22, 1943; he preceded her in death in 1982. Jack and Florence later moved to Sheboygan where he became a noted attorney. They became very much involved in civic activities and were community leaders. Florence was a Registered Nurse, serving in hospitals in Appleton, Milwaukee and New York City, in addition to her responsibilities as a private nurse. She was a member of Hadassah and numerous women’s organizations. Survivors include son, Marc (Gail) Kalman, Plymouth, Minnesota; her grandson, Todd (Elissa) Kalman, Plymouth, Minnesota; her grandson, Robert (April) Kalman, Shakopee, Minnesota; her granddaughter, Stacie(Perry) Cowen, Maple Grove, Minnesota; and her great grandchildren, Jack, Max, Kayla and Samantha Kalman, and Lillie and Abby Cowen. Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, October 23, 2006 at Wichmann Funeral Home, Appleton. Burial will be in Zion Reformed Cemetery, Appleton.
